World War I Nieuport 28

Glenn Baker sent us this photo of his friend's Nieuport 28, just before its maiden flight at the 114th Aero Squadron in Grapevine, Texas.

Glenn wrote:

"This is a Maxford USA model. The wingspan is 68 inches and length is 53 inches. A CRRC GP26R (engine) with electronic ignition powers it.

"Upgrades from the stock kit include detailed machine guns and a period propeller. The kit's included tail wheel was replaced with a more realistic skid. Scale-looking wheels were dressed up with stars."

The 114th Aero Squadron is an AMA chartered club that supports airplane and helicopter modelers. The club supports the local community by hosting several events such as the Grapevine Outdoor Kids Adventure Day and Santa Cops. The 114th Aero Squadron's website address is http://114thrc.org.
