When the gang down at the flying field saw the Control Line reel winder, everyone had a comment: "Why didn't I think of that?" "Make me one!" "I have to have one of them!" etc. It is a simple device and you wonder why you have been struggling with your fingers through the holes of the reel and the line going every which way. Just insert the winder from the flat side of the reel and wind her up. Several examples of the winder have been made. As can be seen in the photos, all that is required is a strip of sheet aluminum 1/16 × 1/2 wide × 3 1/2 long, three pieces of dowel, and three screws. The center hole of a Sig reel is 1 3/16 diameter, and the smaller hole is 1 1/16 diameter.
