Radio Control: Electrics
THIS MONTH'S TOPICS include the Electric Connection Service, some exciting new E-products, "brush dust," and two Electric points of view. The September 1994 column offered an unusual Electric Connection Service listing: that of Ron Torrito and his Internet address, along with the invitation for anyone else interested to send me their Net address. Bill Jones of Wilkes Barre PA can be found at his father's address: KEITHJONES-CROSERVE.COM. Please keep the ECS in mind; it's designed to help you find E-interest in your area. Just write me!

THIS MONTH'S TOPICS include a meet announcement; two reminders; a new catalog; E-Motion; the large and small of it; and more on power systems. The Dallas Electric Flyers (DEAF) has announced its Ninth Annual Electric Fly-in September 30-October 1 at the Dallas RC Field in Seagoville TX near Dallas. In addition to many events there will be a sell/swap bazaar, free Saturday night buffet, and a free DEAF Fly-In mug! (Electric folks are the friendliest!) Get all the details from CD Frank Korman, 9354 Forrest Hills Blvd., Dallas TX 75218; Tel.: (214) 327-8411.

THIS MONTH WE'LL COVER the Electric Connection Service; additional MaxCim information; info on a potential symposium tape; the rapid maturing of Electric; and some motor/prop/battery basics. President Pete George of the just-formed St. Louis Chargers Electric club wrote to tell me of this new organization and to invite all interested to get in touch. You can reach Pete at 2127 Arsenal, St. Louis MO 63118; Tel.: (314) 664-6613. While the new club does not yet have a home field, most members are also members of other (non-E) clubs or have a permit to fly at a local park. Pete hopes to promote E-flying in the area by co-sponsoring activity with some other clubs. As a reminder to all, this column's Electric Connection Service is designed to "hook you up" with other nearby Electric activity. Just write, and I'll get your info or request in an upcoming column.

THIS MONTH WE'LL OPEN with some sad news, then look at upcoming E-meets, new products, testing motors, "watts it like?" a golden opportunity for NEAC, and one "I did it!" My friend, fellow E-modeler, and fellow E-columnist Charlie Spear of Mocksville NC departed the flying field of life on Monday, February 27 following a recent illness. I first met Charlie at a KRC meet about a decade ago and had flown with him nearly every year since at KRC and/or at the Annual Labor Day Vintage Reunion in Selinsgrove PA. I always enjoyed these shared happy times and I will miss Charlie a great deal.

THIS MONTH'S TOPICS include meet announcements, some industry and new product info, and some reader reactions to topics past. Gordon Wheeler (5 Old Farms Lane, Cazenovia NY 13035-9444; Tel.: [315] 655-9068, Fax: [315] 655-3824) of the Voltaires Club (Central NY) wrote to tell us of this year's Annual Electric Fun Fly July 19-20. Last year's meet drew attendance from six states - it's a good one. Ken Myers (1911 Bradshaw Ct., Walled Lake MI 48390; Tel.: [810] 669-8124; E-mail 102575.3410¢ompuserve.com) sent info on the 1997 Mid-America Electric Flies-back-to-back meets July 12-13. This is really one big happy affair, with each day sponsored by a different cooperating club: the Electric Flyers Only, Inc., and the Ann Arbor Falcons.
