MENTION the word, Chipmunk, at any gathering of air-minded people, and you will immediately stir up visions of Art Scholl doing his world-famous aerobatics routine at some large air show. What modeler among us hasn't imagined himself at the controls of that colorful aircraft, trailing huge plumes of red and blue smoke, while majestically arching through precision loops and Cuban eights? Or whipping in and out of snap rolls on a heading, followed by absolutely perfect eight-point rolls and a myriad of other breathtaking maneuvers too numerous to mention-until finally you perform the show-stopping grand finale Lomcevack that leaves the crowd gasping in disbelief while you tumble nose-over-tail through your own smoke! Few modelers have left a show like that without vowing to himself, "Someday, I'm going to build an RC Chipmunk that can do those things."
