CONTROL LINE SCALE at the 1997 Nats brought participants from across the country. They presented a beautiful selection of model aircraft for static judging at the Horizon Center in downtown Muncie. Before Scale models are flown, they are judged for static realism. Each modeler must provide a presentation book that describes the prototype aircraft in detail. This book contains drawings, photos, and proof-of-color, and enables the judges to compare the model to the documentation. The static score is based on how well the information presented is reproduced on the model; a score for craftsmanship is also awarded.
