Aviation Field Day

Delta Darts, Blacksheep Squadron part of valuable event promoting aviation. If you had seen the gleam in the kids' eyes at Aviation Field Day, you would find a way to hold the event every weekend. There were 8,000 kids at the WLACC (Western Los Angeles County Councils) Jamboree '99, held May 22-23. The idea of Aviation Field Day, which was part of the Jamboree, was for Boy Scouts to build an AMA Delta Dart, fly a Radio Control (RC) airplane, attend a ground school held by uniformed airline pilots, and complete the requirements for the Aviation Merit Badge.
