2004 FAI Control Line World Championships-2004/11
FOR THE FIRST time in 20 years, the FAI Control Line World
Championships (CLWC) was contested in the United States.
Between July 4 and July 10, the best CL modelers on the planet
made their way to AMA’s International Aeromodeling Center in
Muncie, Indiana, to compete in the four FAI F2 events at the 23rd
CLWC: A (Speed), B (Aerobatics), C (Team Race), and D
(Combat).
Control Line Speed - 2003/12
THE 77TH CONTROL Line Speed National Championships, or
Nats, saw more records fall than anyone could remember.
Unfortunately the records were set by the weather; more than 15
inches of rain fell during the week. When we arrived at the site
Monday, July 7, we found roads covered with running water, and
lakes had formed in areas where Muncie residents said they had
never seen standing water.
CONTROL LINE SPEED - 2004/07
THIS MONTH I will write about the
inaugural Hamster Dash at the 2004
Nats, the effect of model weight, and a
few methods of building a lightweight
Speedster.
CONTROL LINE SPEED - 2003/10
I HAVE RECEIVED several letters from
modelers expressing an interest in Speed,
but with no idea how to begin or what event
in which to start. This month I’m going to
discuss how to get going, then I will review
the Speed events flown today.
