Death and the Red Knight. Most FF Scale modelers appreciate history and often select their subjects because of it. This April marks the 95th anniversary of the death of Germany’s World War I “Ace of Aces.” I wrote this in response to a research assignment in high school. 2004 Flying Aces Nationals-2004/12
“RAIN, RAIN, go away ... ” So begins a childhood ditty that had
renewed meaning for those gathered in Geneseo, New York, July
16-18, 2004, for the 14th biennial celebration of what has become
the world’s greatest FF Scale meet. The Flying Aces Club (FAC)
continues to grow and represents a unique group of individuals who
proudly continue to develop one of the earliest forms of model
aviation

The Wawayanda contest's 10th anniversary blast
THE BARRON FIELD Air Races held in Wawayanda, New York,
celebrated its 10th anniversary on October 24-25, 2009. Models in 20
Flying Aces Club (FAC) events filled the sometimes rainy and windy
sky, but spirits were high as more than 30
contestants competed.
In memory of Gordon J. Roberts, Ph.D. - 2012
Gordon Roberts entered this world on April 9, 1927, and left it on March
31, 2012. He was the only child of Arthur and Elsie Roberts. Following the
early loss of his father, Gordon was raised by his mother and his maternal
grandmother, Agnes Green. They lived in the town of Fenton, in a district of central
England collectively known as Stoke-on-Trent, a region noted for coal mines, fi ne clay,
earthenware, and exquisite bone china.
