A Poor Man's Prop Pitch Gauge
CHALLENGE: If you think about propellers at all, eventually you will get around to the subjects of pitch and pitch distribution. Pitch in inches or millimeters is the distance a given point on the propeller will move forward in one revolution if turning in a perfect, slip-free medium. Pitch distribution refers to the pitch at various points along the propeller radius. One type of pitch distribution is called helical. Helical-pitch propellers have the same pitch at any point along the radius.
