At the AMA Convention in Ontario,
California, in January, Tony Naccarato Jr.
received the Frank and John Zaic Memorial
Award. Although the honor was in his name
only, it recognized one of the most unique
families in aeromodeling history.
1991 FF World Champs
AS FOLKS back home enjoyed their annual Independence Day festivities, the FAI Free Flight community had gathered in Zrenjanin, Yugoslavia for the start of its annual World Championships. From July 4 through 8, 1991, teams from 28 countries vied for the trophies in F1A Nordic Towline, F1C Power, and F1B Wakefield Rubber. Spain and Norway did not attend this year. Randy Archer of the U.S. walked away with the world title in F1C Power. Given the weather and field conditions along with the world-class competition, Archer's triumph required a total commitment by the U.S. team and its contingent of supporters. It was a superb win.
