District IV - 2015/01
The inaugural Scale Helicopter Fun-Fly was held at the Fredericksburg Area RC field in Thornburg, Virginia, June 27-29, 2014. It attracted some of the country’s best Scale helicopter pilots and builders. It was organized by Bob Harris and CDed by Salvatore Vezzi.
District IV - 2014/12
On Saturday, June 14 2014, the Fluvanna County Radio Control Flying Club (FCRCFC) hosted Radio Control Piloting for Animal Welfare Shindig (RC-PAWS) at the club’s field immediately adjacent to the Fluvanna County landfill. RC-PAWS combined an AMA-sanctioned fun-fly with a fundraiser for the Fluvanna SPCA, Peaceful Passings, and Caring for Creatures, three wonderful Fluvanna County animal welfare organizations.
District IV - 2014/11
National Aviation Day was held August 19, 2014 at Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. The event was held by the First Flight Society. This event celebrated general aviation, space travel, model aircraft, and many more aviation-related interests. The location where the Wright brothers made their first flight was the perfect venue.
District IV - 2014/10
This issue marks the first time that I will be listed in the District IV portion of Model Aviation as your district vice president (VP). It is an honor and a pleasure to have the opportunity to serve in this capacity. I was appointed by the AMA Executive Council in July on Bliss Teague’s recommendation to complete his term after he resigned because of illness.
