Breakfast Specials
THESE TWO MODELS have flying surfaces which are cut from the lids of McDonald's breakfast cartons. The basic parts are the same, with only small body stick modifications necessary to adapt to one design or the other. The Breakfast Special GL is a catapult-launched (or hand-launched if you are athletic) glider, while the Breakfast Special RP is a propeller-driven, rubber-powered model. They are intended as low-cost projects for youngsters, lazy adults (like me), or for group instruction. They fly very well outdoors and are quite durable. They tolerate wind better than most small models. I lost one of the RP models out-of-sight on a nice thermal flight while test flying it on my lunch hour a few months ago.
