This month, I am pleased to announce the results of the 2013 financial audit for the Academy of Model Aeronautics. The accounting firm of Brady, Ware, & Schoedfeld, Inc. performed the audit in March. The results were reviewed with the Executive Council at our April 6, 2014, meeting.

All right, who’s ready for Joe Nall Week? It is my favorite time of year. I love to go there and see old friends, make some new ones, fly, and relax. This will be my first year of participating as a council member for the annual AMA membership meeting. I am looking forward to it because I feel the AMA has much to be proud of.

It is cold outside and most of the northern states are still covered in snow. If you are a builder, you are 80% done with your winter project, which means you only have another 50% left to do. If you are not a builder, then you are certainly going over your fleet, replacing fuel tubing, checking batteries, and making repairs in preparation for the flying season.

It was hot. It was South Georgia in August on a hot tarmac. I was seven years old, and my dad was competing in the Region V Soaring Championships in Cordele. They had just finished launching, and I knew the excitement was over for four or five hours until they returned.
