The 1996 National Aeromodeling Championships

BACK HOME AGAIN: In 1996 AMA celebrated its 60th anniversary with the 70th National Aeromodeling Championships July 7-August 3-the first Nationals held almost entirely at the International Aeromodeling Center at Muncie, Indiana. "Everything went extremely well," said AMA president Dave Brown. "I'm really pleased with the results. Everyone put in a tremendous effort, and the competitors responded to that." Most competitors and organizers felt that the 1996 Nationals ran smoothly-even more so than the 1995 event. While successful, the 1995 three-site Nationals was hampered by last-minute site complications and presented organizers and competitors with several logistical and organizational problems.
