Ever wonder about the magnificent action shots of RC scale models you see in the magazines? Here's a pro to tell you that you don't have to be an expert to shoot "grabbers." In language we amateurs can understand, he discusses equipment, methods, and tricks of the trade. Look at the Sports page of any magazine or newspaper, and your eye will go directly to the action shot. Whether it's football, basketball, tennis, swimming. Whatever. It's sharp. It fills the frame. It's properly exposed and has a pleasant background. It's the "grabber." In model aviation, getting that action shot is about as big a challenge as there is in Sport photography. But you don't have to be an expert; and expensive equipment won't guarantee it. I've seen more than one professional photographer go away talking to himself after covering his first model flying event.
