1986 U.S. Free Flight Championships
SUMMER arrives early in California's interior. This year was not much different from the weather for the previous U.S. Free Flight Championships. The 95º temperature this Memorial Day weekend was typical of the U.S. FF Champs' weather at Taft. People learn to adapt to their environment, and Free Flight modelers are no different. Survival for three days of bright, sunny weather meant tents, campers, and other structures providing shade-plus a large amount of common sense. This was the 15th of these annual events. Sponsor was the Free Flight Model Airplane Association of Southern California, and the Contest Director was Carlo Godel.
