WINGS over Skyland Hill? Well, of course there are: birds, butterflies, bees and all sorts of other critters. But wait! What kind of flying critter has diamond-shaped wings? You guessed it! The Delta Dart strikes again . . . or, in this case, it's called the HIAA Flyer; another version of the AMA Cub. In order to figure all this out, let's see where we are and why the situation is rather unusual. Skyland Hill is what we call the location of Skyland Camp for Girls, Clyde, North Carolina. It is near the Tennessee-NC border, about 26 miles west of Asheville, and sits on the edge of the Smokey Mountain National Park area. Beautiful country, which draws tourists like a magnet and provides the perfect environment for camping, hiking, horseback riding and all those other fun things. Skyland was established in 1917 by the writer's grandmother, operated for many years by mother and aunt, and now is directed by wife Bunny.
