THE DISTRICT I event season has
begun. The AMA District I Web site,
www.amadistrict-i.org, is the place to
view the sanctioned and non-sanctioned
flying and non-flying events and
activities that will be taking place this
year.
On the front page of the Web site,
click on “Event Calendar.” A page with
the current calendar month will open
with event names in the appropriate
date box.
Clicking on an event name and date
on the calendar will provide written
details of the event including the
location, classification, type, contact
person/CD, telephone, e-mail, and Web
site when provided.
You can search the entire event data
base by typing keywords into the
search box below the calendar. If you
type IMAA in the box all the IMAA
(International Miniature Aircraft
Association) events and their respective
data will appear.
Going to the District I Web site for
information is the best way to make
plans for attending the events of your
choosing during this year’s flying
season.
This year, the first district-sponsored
specialty event is the popular annual
Electric Fly-In and Air Show hosted by
The Wintonbury Flying Club at its
enlarged, pristine flying site offering
your choice of a grass or paved
runway.
This will be our third year
sponsoring this weekend event and it
just gets better. If you’re into electrics,
plan to attend.
In the months to follow, I will provide
advertisements of other 2009 districtsponsored
events in this column. Please
join us at these venues.
It is all about “Bringing Modelers
Together” for friendship, flying, and
fun.
