Thank you to Pat Hartness for his generosity in letting AMA use his facilities. There were more than 550 registered pilots for the event. This seems to be one of — if not the — largest annual events in the East and possibly the entire country. Thanks again, Pat!
DCRC Flying Circus Aerodrome Fly-In (Bealeton, Virginia — September 9, 2006)
The DCRC club held another successful fly-in at the Flying Circus Aerodrome in Bealeton, Virginia, on September 9, 2006. The weather was a little hot, but turnout was good. CD (Contest Director) Andy Kane ably kept things in order.
There was extensive flying Friday and Saturday featuring all types of civilian and warbird aircraft. Several jets attended, along with electric-, nitro-, and gasoline-powered airplanes.
Sunday was reserved for a model-flying demonstration in the morning and a full-scale air show in the afternoon. This year Andy Kane received a District IV award for his hard work and continued support of aeromodeling. The award was presented during the evening meal on Saturday.
Congratulations and thank you, Andy — you have certainly earned it.
