One of the best-kept secrets in northern Virginia is the Giant Scale fly-ins held at the Bealeton Aerodrome. For many years, this great facility has hosted many Scale contests. It is home to the popular full-size Flying Circus program, held every Sunday.

The forecast of rain and thunderstorms on Saturday, May 10, at the airport in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, didn’t dampen the enthusiastic turnout for the RC and full-scale fly-in. Proceeds from airplane rides over Smith Mountain Lake, along with concession sales, netted more than $2,000 in donations to help the needs of the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy.

The Riverside Aero Modelers Society (RAMS) 2014 Giant Scale Warbird event was held April 11-12.
District IV 2014/06
Warbirds Over Delaware was held July 10-14, 2013, at Lums Pond State Park in Delaware. Turnout this year was good with more than 150 registered pilots. This has always been a perfect venue for the gathering of so many warbird models from all over the country. This was apparent by the rows of tents on the flightline and the numerous campers parked around the grounds.
