AMA News District IV - 2007/06
The Asheville-Buncombe Aeromodelers Club held its first Senior Pattern Association (SPA) event on September 16, 2007, at its local flying field north of Asheville in western North Carolina.
There were 19 contestants, including 14 from Tennessee and one each from Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and New Jersey. These seniors sure are dedicated!
During the noon break, everyone enjoyed the usual good food provided by the club's volunteers, including dessert. You can always count on a good meal at this club. Will Hicks was the contest director (CD) and shared the list of the top finishers in each division.
With a turnout such as this, I would not be surprised if the club held another one next year.
I want to extend my condolences to the family of Dave Robelen. In addition to being a regular columnist in this magazine, Dave was the Electric Contest Board representative for District IV.
