THE WEST HICKORY Aero Modelers held its annual Bob Wilson Memorial Fly-In this past August. This event is in honor of a deceased member and shop owner who supported the club.

Airplanes of all kinds are flown because that was what Bob enjoyed, especially the Old-Timers such as the Buzzard Bombshell. CD Ernie Masche kept things in order. Approximately 30 pilots came from far and near.

The Drowning Creek Fire Department handled the food chores as usual. This event is one of their money-making endeavors to support equipment costs, and they look forward to it each year.

Prizes were donated by local merchants for pilots and spectators. Also a 50/50 drawing was used to help defray expenses. In addition to the club, one lucky person profited by the occasion. Everyone is already looking forward to next time.
