Thanks to all of you who supported and voted for me in the district elections. I appreciate your confidence in me to fulfill the duties of vice president. I am excited to fill the position, and look forward to the challenges the next three years will bring.
I want to thank Charlie Bauer for providing many years of leadership to the district. He will be a hard act to follow.
Most of Charlie’s life has been dedicated to modeling, competition, and the AMA. He will be missed in many ways, although I believe he will remain active in aeromodeling for many years to come and will support the AMA in any way he can. I know I can call on him for help and advice any time the need arises.
A little about me: I‘ve been involved in modeling and aircraft since before I can remember. My father was a modeler and started me building and flying CL at a young age. I enjoy nearly every aspect of modeling.
Having served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, I have been lucky enough to fly in many parts of the world. Today, I’m mainly an RC sport flier and am attempting to learn 3-D flying.
I am married and employed, however I will attend as many district events as time allows. I’ll encourage the associate vice presidents to do the same.
I want to highlight an AMA program each month for the next several months that may or may not be commonly known. This month, I will start out easy.
Do you know that you can have a custom AMA number? I changed mine approximately a year ago to FLYRC. Simply complete the form at www.modelaircraft.org/files/Alphanumeric.pdf. There is a one-time fee of $50 to make the change.
