As I write this, it looks as though Mother Nature may allow a break in the cold weather and begin to warm up. But of course, as is normal in March, it will be windy. I hope everyone is wrapping up their winter projects and, by the time you read this, are out flying every chance you get.

Most are aware of the incident with the quadcopter crashing on the White House lawn. What I would like you to be aware of is the responses from the AMA about the incident. Some good national coverage, with quotes from Bob Brown, Dave Mathewson, and Rich Hanson were published in Time Magazine, Forbes, and Reuters.

As I write this, we have just entered the new year and it is cold and raining outside—just the right temperature for a mixture of freezing rain and snow. By the time you receive this, it should be nearly March and hopefully within a few weeks, we will be getting into the flying season.

Positive publicity needed. Please be thinking of ways to produce positive publicity for your club and our hobby this coming year. Many clubs do a lot for their community, such as a Branson, Missouri, club that gathers toys each year and donates them to the local hospital’s children’s ward at Christmastime.

As I write this, I dread the thought of Old Man Winter arriving. It seems to be getting colder earlier than normal. For many, the building season is has come into full swing.
