Leader Club Award: Cedar City Radio Control Club
Las Vegas, Nevada AVP Greg Clemensen made a seven-hour trip to present the Cedar City Radio Control Club with the Silver Leader Club Award. From Greg’s e-mail, it sounded like a good experience that he and the club enjoyed.
If you are ever in the area, you might look up this Silver Leader club. It is located in the southwest corner of Utah, about 180 miles north of Las Vegas.
The club’s website states: “Cedar City is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. This offers some very unique and interesting flying opportunities at an elevation of approximately 5,800 feet above sea level.”
Silver is one of three levels of the Leader Club award. If your club is interested in achieving a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Leader Club award, look for PDF document 708 in the Members Services section of the AMA’s website: www.modelaircraft.org/files/708.pdf.
Remote Possibilities RC Club Presidents’ Day Fun-Fly
Greg was also able to attend the Remote Possibilities RC Club Presidents’ Day Fun-Fly in Saint George, Utah.
As you can see from the aerial photo, the event was well attended. There were warbirds and numerous aerobatic Extras, Edges, Yaks, and more, but not to be outdone was this electric glider seen soaring through the thin mountain air.
Always a joy to watch is a smooth knife-edge pass.
Judging from the pictures on the club’s website, this was a great event with an even better turnout. I wish I could have attended this one — I’m jealous, Greg.
