WESTFAC II is coming to Texas from
California. Back in the good old 1980s, a
fantastic engineer and FF modeler named
Walt Mooney formed the 41st Flying Aces
Squadron in San Diego, California. It was
named the Scale Staffel. Staffel is the
German word for squadron.

THE MEMBERS of the Academy of
Model Aeronautics are the pathway to the
future of modeling and are committed to
making modeling the foremost sport/hobby
in the world.

I BELIEVE volunteers are the most
important and essential part of this hobby.
There would be no clubs, no AMA, and
basically no hobby without the thousands of
volunteers who give countless hours of their
time for the benefit al all. The AMA
recognizes all of its volunteers, but once in a
while they honor the best of the best with
special awards.
