are no different. A chili feed? Sure, why
not? A club’s first flight of the New Year?
You bet! Two reasons, one event!

WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM and
fanfare, 35-plus members and guests
gathered at Del Norte County’s McBeth
Field for the Redwood Empire Modelers
Association’s (REMA), ninth annual Fun-
Fly and the club’s 30th anniversary
celebration. Guests traveled from as far as
Eugene, Medford, and Grants Pass, Oregon,
to the north, and as far as Chico, Redding,
and Fort Bragg, California.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, hosted the annual
Southwest Regional International Miniature
Aerobatic Club (IMAC) Championships at
Bennett Field on September 27-28. The
Tournament of Champions made this site famous as the Holy Grail of Aerobatics and
37 pilots convened to determine the final
placement for these six states in the region.

Unlimited Flyers and the Redding Area
Miniature Aircraft Club were having a
fundraiser at their local air show. We had
done it before with good success, but not
for a few years.

want to fly, so you hook up your lithium
battery and charger to your car’s battery,
stepping away for a moment to chat with a
friend. All of the sudden the lithium battery
explodes!
