I WANT TO SAY thank you to everyone
who voted, not only for me but for Laurence
Tougas as well. Voting for whom you want
in this office is your right and I thank each
and every one of you who did.
A larger percentage of the district’s
members voting would be better and maybe
that is something we need to address.
What is the answer to why more
members don’t vote? Is it that they don’t
care for the politics or who is in office? I
surely hope not, but then I do not have the
answer.
I wish I did know the answer, though! I
would take care of the problem if I could.
In thinking about the past year, I am
reminded of many events I attended, or my
associate vice presidents attended on my
behalf. It was quite a few, that’s for sure.
I know I have stressed this in past
articles, but I want more event reports. It’s
not just so I have something for this column,
but to help advertise our district’s clubs and
their events.
A long time ago when I used to send in
event reports, I felt it was a privilege and it
made me feel good to see my club’s events
in print in this magazine. I know they are not
huge reports but it does let others know
what’s going on and what events they can
attend the following year.
I hope more of you will consider sending
more reports soon. Following is a look at a
few of the events reported on in this column
this past year.
