THE 36TH NORTHWEST REGIONAL
Control Line Championships will be held
in Eugene, Oregon, May 25-27, 2007.
Craig Bartlett is the contact person and he
can be reached at [email protected].
I have attended this in the past and if
you are into CL this is where it’s at! They
have a discount passport for kids. Check at
your post office for forms.
Reeves Lippencott, associate vice
president in Alaska, sent photos from the
Alaska Radio Control Society (ARCS).
Andrew Cunningham was pronounced
the ARCS Pilot of the Year for 2006.
Andrew bested all of the club by
competiting in 12 events, winning against
some stiff competition including Reeves
and his father, the 2004 champion Ed
Cunningham.
Phillip Keith Strong was awarded
ARCS 2006 Novice of the Year Pilot.
Keith won this honor by flying in glider
events and helping out at other contests.
Keith, who is 15 and in ninth grade in
Anchorage, “loves to fly RC aerobatic
airplanes.” His goal is to someday be a
Navy F-18 fighter pilot.
Fred Keller constructed a 2.48-gram
airplane of his own design and the little
aircraft flies beautifully. Another of the
photos shows Casey Smoot “wall hanging”
his Shock Flyer. He makes this look so
easy. Casey is one of the best aerobatic
pilots in the ARCS club. He lives in Eagle
River, Alaska.

2007 contest schedule, check out the
club’s Web site at www.alaskarc.org.
