I want to thank all of you for your response to my request for information on Privateer plans. I received responses from New Hampshire to Florida and all points between. I have passed the information on to my friend, and he would like to thank you all as well.

R. Lynn Hendry of the Lewis-Clark RC Model Club in Lewiston, Idaho, sent this report and the accompanying photo detailing an aviation day camp his club participated in this past June.

The Lewis-Clark RC Model Club (LCRCMC), club number 235, completed a weeklong, aviation-related day camp with the local Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 328 in Lewiston, Idaho. The Introduction to Aviation began June 12, with 28 students ages 10–17 who took part in daily aviation instruction at the EAA hangar.

Members from both clubs assisted with the daily program, including building rubber band–powered AMA Cubs and competitively flying at the LCRCMC flying field. They also offered hands-on buddy-box experiences with gas models and sailplanes. Students had the opportunity to fly for the first time in full-scale aircraft provided by licensed EAA pilots.

LCRCMC president Bill Robinson and EAA president Skip Heard coordinated activities of both clubs and their respective members. All students—boys and girls—were enthusiastic about the day camp, and it looks as though another session will be scheduled for next year.

Until next time, Bruce
