The uniqueness of a model aircraft — its realistic features, detailing, finish, and flight performance — distinguishes ordinary builders and fliers from the extraordinary.
One of the perks of being an AMA district vice president is representing the AMA at various venues. I get to see hundreds of model aircraft and individual flying styles. For this column I choose to feature the best of what I have seen in extraordinary modelers from a national and a local flying event, and from a trade show.
