Weak Signals Toledo R/C Model Expo (60th anniversary)
Associate Vice President Steve Brehm and I attended the 60th anniversary of the Weak Signals' Toledo R/C Model Expo. The event continued its tradition of being the largest and longest-running RC show in North America—attracting nearly 8,000 hobbyists.
For many, it is not just a hobby distributor and manufacturer show to check out new aeromodeling products and ask questions; it’s an opportunity to see some of the best-crafted model aircraft in the world in the static display competition area.
During our stay, we:
- walked every aisle,
- visited the swap shop,
- listened to guest speakers, and
- attended the auction.
On Sunday, we had AMA’s second Executive Council meeting of the year. The meeting minutes are available on the AMA website.
Although we sometimes think we know all the trends and new products, we found additional items of interest. This year we saw 3D FigureWorks, a company that makes a 3-D image scan of a person and creates a full-color 3-D printed body/bust model pilot of that person.
If you haven’t attended the Toledo Weak Signals event, try to attend next year. You will not be disappointed!
