AVP Steve Brehm and I attended the 60th anniversary of the Weak Signals’ Toledo R/C Model Expo. The event continued its tradition of being the largest and longest-running RC show in North America, attracting nearly 8,000 hobbyists.
For many, it is not just a hobby distributor and manufacturer show to check out new aeromodeling products and ask questions, it’s an opportunity to see some of the best-crafted model aircraft in the world in the static display competition area!
During our stay, we worked every aisle, visited the swap shop, listened to guest speakers, and attended the auction. On Sunday, we had AMA’s second Executive Council meeting. The meeting minutes are available on the AMA website.
Although we sometimes think we have knowledge of all trends and new products, we managed to find additional items of interest. This year we saw 3D FigureWorks, a company that makes a 3-D image scan of a person and creates a full-color 3-D printed body/bust model pilot of the person.
If you haven’t attended the Toledo Weak Signals event, mark it on your calendar for next year. You will not be disappointed!
