Winston-Salem Annual Swap Meet
The Winston-Salem Radio Control Club held its annual swap meet in November 2005 at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds Home and Garden Building in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Attendance appeared strong, and many buyers and vendors went home happy. Swap meets help fill the wintertime lull before the flying season begins.
Triad Aero Modelers Swap Meet
Lexington, North Carolina, hosted another swap meet sponsored annually by the Triad Aero Modelers, Inc. The meet was held at the Davidson County Fairgrounds in March 2006. Club officers reported an excellent crowd and plenty of buying and swapping to get ready for upcoming events.
Caldwell Aero Modelers: Appreciation Plaque
This spring, the Caldwell Aero Modelers, Inc. attended a Caldwell County Commissioners meeting to present a plaque in appreciation of the commissioners' support of the hobby and sport of model aviation and the use of the closed county landfill as a flying site. The site has been the location of several community efforts by the club. The plaque was presented to Faye Higgins, chairperson, by club president Seth Nagy.
Personnel and Vacancies
With Tom McClain and his wife Sheryl moving to Arizona, anyone interested in the associate vice president position for northern Virginia should contact me by email or telephone to discuss details.
Thank you, Tom, for all your hard work and interest. We wish you the best in your new location and hope you keep in touch. By the way, Rich Hanson, vice president in District X, will be getting a good member!
At this time I would also like to solicit applications for a District IV Safety Coordinator. Thanks.
Go teach a kid to fly!
