WITH LOWE’S Motor Speedway as the
backdrop, the Flying Aces club kicked off
its spring season in style as the club hosted
its first Fun-Fly on April 12, 2008. It was a
big success with more than 35 pilots
registered and at least an addtional 40
spectators.
Bliss Teague, AMA District IV Vice
President, was in attendance to support the
club’s new adventure. Thanks to “Humpy”
Wheeler and the speedway, the Flying Aces
have a great place to fly and meet new
friends.
A number of Charlotte Aeromodelers
came out to support the club at its new
home. Please visit the Charlotte club’s Web
site at www.charlotteaeromodelers.org.

responsible for the Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
The prize raffle was popular at the fly-in.
The Charlotte Aeromodelers’ 2008 flying
season kicked off with the 7th Annual Spring
Fly-In on April 19. The club members and
guests raised money for two worthy
charities: the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation
and the Juvenile Leukemia Foundation.
With 38 registered pilots, the club was able
to donate $800 to the charities.
A big thank-you to all the guests and
members who made it happen. And a big
thank-you to our sponsors this year. Without
their generosity it would not have happened:

Modeling, and Korben Homes.
