ANOTHER ADDITION to the District X
Web site for members: a new Member
Photos section!
I have added a new Member Photos
section to your District X Web site! Pictures
can be of anything hobby-related, it doesn’t
matter. If you like it, we will too.
Don’t worry about the size because we
will most likely have to shrink and/or crop it
anyway. Just send them in as large a format
as you can. A caption should be sent with
the picture, because we all want to know
who’s in it, what the airplane is, etc. Write
as much or as little as you like, but some
caption is wanted to go under the photo.
I am asked once in a while where a
modeler can be honored. This is the perfect
way to honor a fallen flying friend. Send a
picture of him (or her) alone or with his or
her favorite airplane. Include a brief
description of this person’s contribution to
modeling or the club or just the fact he or
she was a good person or a good friend.
Webmaster Jon Wilson and I have put a
few examples on the Web site for you to
check out. They will be seen first as smaller
pictures, but when you click on the picture
you will get it its full saved size.
I hope the members of District X like the
new page and take advantage of it. It’s just
one more thing we can offer you—a place to
share your memories.
Please go to www.ama10.org to check it
out. Send your pictures to me or directly to
Jon Wilson our webmaster. Either one of us
will see your picture gets posted as soon as
possible.
On Sunday, August 8, District X Associate
Vice President Jerry Neuberger presented
the five-year Gold Leader Club award to the
Coachella Valley RC Club.
Coachella Valley RC is one of the oldest
continually operating clubs in District X. It
has been in existence for 38 years.
The club’s current location is on a
California Department of Reclamation flood
plain that was given to the county Parks and
Recreation Department specifically for the
development of an RC flying field.
Coachella Valley RC got a great deal on
a 25-year lease with the option for a 25-year
renewal, and the flood-plain designation
ensures the area will never be
developed. The members of the
Coachella Valley club have
built themselves a first-class
flying site. They are very active
in the community and are most
deserving of the Gold Leader
Club award.
As a District X AMA member,
you have the right to vote. The
ballots are sent right to your
door; all you have to do is make
a mark in the box next to the
candidate you support and mail
it to AMA’s auditors using the
pre-addressed ballot. Do not
mail it to AMA Headquarters.
Let’s make this the highest
percentage of voters to
participate ever! Let’s all vote!
