District XI - 2006/11

I would like your thoughts on the following idea.

I have been approached with the suggestion of having several district meetings around the region rather than the one that has in the past been held at the Puyallup Show. I know that this has some merit—especially for those who are not able to travel long distances in the winter months.

Please give this some serious thought and let me know your views.

Report from Charles O'Donnell (Eugene, Oregon)

The Eugene Aeronauts are now at the club’s third flying field in as many years. The new field has a 60 x 600-foot grass runway and the members use a truck trailer box to house their equipment for the field.

During the summer months the field was drying up to the point of opening cracks that made the field unusable. The members then went to work drilling their own well.

Much to their surprise they struck water at only 20 feet, but it took eight hours to get there. They now have a working system to water the field.

Until next time, Bruce.
