District XI - 2010/12
Salmon Arm Float Fly (Salmon Arm, British Columbia)
The latest Salmon Arm, British Columbia, float fly was well attended as usual despite threatening weather. Many storms headed our way but, for the most part, went around us — we must have been living right.
The first two pictures are Lea Shepard's Antic Bipe and his Fleet bipe. There were many other very nice aircraft on display. The fourth photo shows a Spacewalker and two scratch-built Proteges that have been upsized and fly very well; both have gas engines.
This event draws almost as many Americans as Canadians. I warn all that this event is habit-forming — I have made the trip up here twice a year for many years. These people are great hosts.
