January 1, 2015, brought out the hardy fliers! Happy 2015!
The Nampa Model Aviators in Idaho were joined by five members of the Boise Area Remote Kontrol Society. They braved the 9°F temperatures to share chili, doughnuts, coffee, and hot dogs to ring in the New Year. This is a wonderful way for two clubs to enjoy their common interest.
Members of the Whidbey Island Radio Control Society in Washington gathered in the best weather anyone could remember on January 1. This Polar Bear event has outlasted even the oldest members in the club. In the wind, rain, snow, and even sunny skies, the group enjoyed a reason to gather for hot cider, coffee, cookies, and plenty of flying.
We have 19 District XI hobby shops that belong to the AMA Hobby Shop Program. I am sharing a few of them here.
These businesses encourage joining the AMA and local clubs to learn the safe use of the products they sell. They are a part of your community and deserve your patronage. Go check out what's new at your local hobby shop — it's building season; you must need something.
