This year's Northwest Model Expo was held again in Monroe, Washington, last February, and it was the best ever. There was something for everybody.
The swap meet was busy and there were many more models on display. The quality of the models was high and many new projects were shown. We did have a District XI meeting and had some interesting discussions.
With a lack of winter weather here, we had time to get more flying in than usual. Many of our winter days were in the 50s and, in our area, there was no snow at all.
Soon it will be time for the first rite of spring in central Washington: the Wenatchee Red Apple Flyers fly-in, called the Apple Blossom Fun-Fly, is held the first weekend in May. This event draws modelers from all across the district, and the field is one of the nicest I have ever seen.

For those of you who have asked, the Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Float Fly will be held the first full weekend of June. This is another must-do if you like float flying. Time to dust off your float plane and head for the Great White North.
Till next time...
