District III - 2014/12
Labor Day 2014 was a great weekend to be a modeler in District III. The event I attended was the Cleveland National Air Show held at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. This three-day full-scale airshow has taken place every Labor Day weekend since 1964 and is a spinoff of the legendary Cleveland Air Races held for many years.

Miles Reed Memorial Fly-In: On July 13, 2014, I attended the 16th annual RC Eagles fly-in Boliver, Ohio. I have attended this event many times, however, this year was special to me and many area modelers because the event was dedicated to the late Miles Reed.

How many times have you heard these complaints? Nobody builds anymore. There are no young people getting into the hobby. FPV and multirotors are ruining the hobby?

On Saturday, June 28, 2014 I loaded up my P-51B, the West By Gawd Virginian, and took a road trip to the City of Brotherly Love—Philadelphia. The event, A Gathering of Mustangs, was hosted by the North East Philadelphia Radio Control Club (NEPRCC).

I have attended many indoor events such as the AMA Expo in California, the Toledo Show, and the Northeast Ohio Electric Festival in Akron, to name a few. As I write this, I just returned from Joe Nall in South Carolina, and what a great way to kick off the flying season after a long, hard winter here in District III.
