District IX - 2008/09
SUMMER is winding down, but this is the
best time for flying because the temperatures
have cooled a bit.
I received the following E-mail from
Dennis Schardt concerning removing
airplanes from trees. Flying bud Rick
Canslor, from the Kansas City area, showed
me his slingshot with a fishing reel attached
to it. It worked super!
Maybe you have some ideas to share with
the District IX folks. Please read and enjoy!
Executive Vice President - 2010/09
HI EVERYONE! Wow, has this month
been crazy! We moved to the beautiful
state of Arkansas on July 10, and left the
next day for a two-week trip to the East
Coast for the Red Bull event in New York
City.

While vandalism and theft are not
common at most flying sites, they can be
costly both in terms of damage to the site and
theft of club equipment. Because flying sites
tend to be in more isolated areas, they are
vulnerable to both theft and vandalism by
criminals who recognize an easy opportunity.
Here are some steps you can take to make
your site more theft and vandalism resistant.
Executive Vice President Report - 2010/06
HI FOLKS! As I am writing this, March
has been an extremely busy month. I flew to
Phoenix, Arizona, to attend the Electric
Flight Expo, and then drove to Torrey Pines,
California, to meet with the RC club
president and learn the great history of this
AMA landmark. I finally wound up in
Pomona, California, to attend the RCX
show.
Executive Vice President - 2010/10
HI FOLKS! AMA’s insurance
representative, Larry Johnson, has been our
point man for 26 years and he decided to
retire from Koch at the first of the year.
