The Battery Clinic - 2010/11
LEADER MEMBERS (LMs), please
contact your district vice president or AMA
Headquarters via e-mail, US Postal Service,
or telephone for important information
regarding your LM status. According to
Frank Geisler, head of the program:
The Battery Clinic - 2007/11
THE CHARGER YOU bought to take care
of your hobby needs can do many other
charging cycling tasks on cordless appliances,
cell-phone batteries, MP3 players, and almost
anything that uses batteries.
Has the charger gone south on your
cordless drill? Are you suspicious of the
capacity delivered by your cell-phone battery?
Your hobby charger can come to the rescue.

Readers’ battery questions answered
The Battery Clinic - 2008/09
I AM STILL perplexed by the number of
people who depend on batteries to fly their
models, yet lack even the most basic battery
test equipment. It is not as if it costs a
fortune.
You can purchase adequate digital
multimeters for less than $5 apiece. Harbor
Freight has them for as low as $3.99 ($2.99
when on sale, which is frequently). See the
source list for contact information.

Are Eneloop batteries the answer?
I HAVE BEEN
getting numerous
questions about
Sanyo’s Eneloop
batteries, but I have
no experience with
them. Sanyo’s Web
page provides a
comprehensive look
at this improved
NiMH technology,
but how they behave
in our modeling
environment is of
more importance.
