CL COMBAT 2013/07 March Madness, shutoff devices, and physical fitness
This year’s March Madness Contest
kicked off the weekend of March
15 in Phoenix. Its main organizer
was Lance Matassa, who got a great
deal of help from Jeff Hanauer, Leonard
Rennick, Sergio Garza, and several other
Central Arizona Control Line Club
members.
CL Combat - 2013/03
Preparing for the 2013 Combat season. A large portion of the United States has weather that causes Combat pilots to hibernate during the winter months. Many new models get built and older model fleets are repaired and returned to competition condition during these months. This is also the time when routine maintenance should take place.
2004 FAI Control Line World Championships-2004/11
FOR THE FIRST time in 20 years, the FAI Control Line World
Championships (CLWC) was contested in the United States.
Between July 4 and July 10, the best CL modelers on the planet
made their way to AMA’s International Aeromodeling Center in
Muncie, Indiana, to compete in the four FAI F2 events at the 23rd
CLWC: A (Speed), B (Aerobatics), C (Team Race), and D
(Combat).
Control Line Combat-2011/09
FAST COMBAT RULES for F2D: It
appears there is much interest in the hybrid
Fast Rules/F2D event. This could be
attributed to the ease of organizing and
running a competition using the AMA Fast
Combat rules, in comparison to a full F2D
competition
Control Line Combat - 2008/05
IN THE MARCH column I wrote about
having an efficient pit box that is laid out
carefully so that all the necessary items are
in immediate reach. This month I have
included a photograph of the other extreme:
a pit setup that has everything including a
Combat pilot’s version of a La-Z-Boy
recliner.
