Three-Blade Thunder Riger RAPTOR - 2014/12
The International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association (IRCHA) Jamboree is a great place to show off new products, and this year something special flew during the noon demos. Nick Maxwell surprised people when he pulled out a new Thunder Tiger Raptor E550, sporting a different canopy, and more noticeably—an all-new, three-blade rotor head.

Helicopter pilots from all over the world convene each year at the International Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana, to attend one of the largest RC helicopter gatherings to date: the International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association (IRCHA) Jamboree. IRCHA is AMA’s helicopter Special Interest Group (SIG), and the organization has a little experience putting this event together. This year represented the IRCHA Jamboree’s 25th anniversary.

Before I begin my column, I would like to acknowledge the passing of AMA’s District IV vice president, Bliss A. Teague. Bliss was well-known throughout District IV, regularly attending countless fly-ins and he was always enthusiastic about model aviation. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to lead our district, and I am grateful to have known him.
