RADIO CONTROL SLOPE SOARING 2003/10
I’M BACK FROM a Slopin’ Safari trip to Kansas and
California; the big news is the availability of many new Slope
sailplanes. I’ll be writing event-coverage articles of the MWSC
(Midwest Slope Challenge) for Model Aviation and the Southern
California PSS (Power Scale Soaring) Festival for Model Airplane
News, but in this space I’m going to describe 12 new gliders I saw
in which you may be interested.

THE 2011 MIDWEST Slope Challenge (MWSC) was one of the
best in its 18-year history. Held annually since 1994, the MWSC
breaks some stereotypes about flatland Slope flying, provides a
destination vacation, and a terrific bunch of Glider fliers from across
the country, and even overseas, return.

Models Thorn smashes through to claim new
ground in model-sailplane design, in materials
used, and in parts-production methods.
