Safety Comes First - 2007/11
I HAVE A trio of “pit” stories to start things off with this month.
Louis Goldberg had an exciting afternoon, and he asked me to share
his tale with you.
He flies a CAP 232 with a Moki 1.80 engine. It’s a reliable machine
and has had many successful flights. The radio has a throttle-lock
feature so preflight work can be done safely.

THE AGE OF VIDEO is upon us, and
our little flying machines look cool in
digital movies. It is getting easy and
inexpensive to use a video camera to film a
model in flight. Even I have tried it since I
want to be on TV but am not fool enough
to sign onto a reality show. Search
YouTube for “StukaDave” to see my
videos.

I was told this column would appear
in the first newly revamped issue of
MA—completely redesigned and
everything. I am still allowed to type the
column while wearing my lucky T-shirt
with the stains, but I am now required
to wear a necktie as well.

A couple of Dave’s pet peeves
Dave finds cool gadgets at the Toledo Show - 2012/08
There is always something new in our hobby—a trend or
tool or some cool technological development—to keep
us interested. The Toledo Weak Signals RC Expo is a
great place to see the latest inventions, especially all the new
safety-related products that could justify my trip to the show
(and all the money I spent there).
