was on a thank-you letter from a schoolkid
after my dad and I flew our model air show
for his class. Fortunately it shows a smooth
hover rather than my signature “rototiller”
maneuver.

away. I had the good fortune to grow up
within bicycle-riding range of her hobby
shop in Burbank, California, and developed

Voice-command radio control: your airplane is listening
I HAVE RECEIVED reports about a small
number of preproduction voice-command
radio-control (VC/RC) systems that have been
brought into the country for informal testing.
These units are not yet certified or licensed, so
all parties will remain anonymous here. The
field-test results were surprising.
