MIKE ISERMANN’S LATEST mount for the Flying Aces
Club (FAC) Greve races is the Brown Racer. It spans 18 inches,
weighs 21.5 grams, and sports a 7-inch carved propeller. Those
are the numbers you like to see for a good-performing model.
I always liked the looks of the Brown Racer but shied away
from it because it was most commonly shown with fixed
landing gear—a definite handicap for duration. However, I
found out that the Brown Racer did compete one year with
retractable landing gear

Mike Isermann's Fleet - 20127

Mike Isermann built a beautiful
Grumman Martlet Mk. II,
the British version of the F4F
Wildcat. It was built using Mike Midkiff
plans with a few modifications. The
model’s wingspan is 25 inches and it
weighs 53 grams. It was built for the
Grumman category of the Western
Regional Flying Aces Club (FAC) Mk. III
contest.

FF Nats event name change
THE NATS STARDUSTER event has had a name change. It is now
called the “One Design Combo,” to more accurately reflect its intent.
You can fly any of the former One Design event 1/2A Gas models
in the class. If the airplane is early Nostalgia or Nostalgia-legal, it must
be flown with a Nostalgia-legal engine. All other designs can use a
Nostalgia-legal engine or a TD .049 or .051.
