The 2009 SAM Champs
THE 2009 SAM (Society of Antique
Modelers) Championships was flown in
September on the dry lake in Boulder City,
Nevada. The site has almost unlimited and
unobstructed space for FF models and a
flat surface for safely following them on a
chase bike. The RC competitors enjoy a
spacious landing area, which they are
required to land inside to complete a score.

want to give Mike
Keville a hearty thank you for the many interesting Old-Timers (OT)
activity reports and wish him a happy retirement after his years of
producing this column.
Old-Timers - 2010/12
SAM (Society of Antique Modelers) Champs week begins
immediately following the September deadline for this column. The
contest is held at the AMA International Aeromodeling Center in
Muncie, Indiana.

Eurochamps 2012
Old-Timer modeling activity
is alive and well worldwide.
The annual Eurochamps is the
largest of the overseas versions of the
US Society of Antique Modelers (SAM)
Championships. The models, events, and
rules are similar to ours.
