I’VE JUST RETURNED from the 2003
Weak Signals RC Exposition in Ohio, which
is otherwise known to us all as the “Toledo
Show.” In recent years I’ve been less than
impressed by this show; it just didn’t seem to
have the impact that it had in the past. Toledo
is where all of us in the hobby industry go to
be re-energized and informed about the
directions in which our hobby/sport is headed.
AMA CONVENTION 2003
AMA CONVENTION 2003, held January
17-19, signaled the end of an era. This show,
which was formerly called the International
Modeler Show, or IMS for short, has been
held in the same facility—the Pasadena
Convention Center in Pasadena,

THE TITLE OF this column, “Modeling
Spoken Here,” would seem to suggest that I
do a lot of actual building and finishing, in the
classic sense, and then write about it monthly.
Those of you who read my etchings know
that this just isn’t the case; I typically use this
forum to exercise my trusty and sturdy
soapbox with my thoughts on one thing or
another that I feel is—in my humble
opinion—endangering our hobby/sport,
interesting, and enlightening and/or
inspirational.
